Ullrich Meier

Ullrich Meier (born July 29, 1955 in Zeitz ) is a German CDU politician .

After graduating from high school, Meier studied human medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin , passed the state examination and obtained a doctorate in medicine. med. From 1983 to 1988 he then completed his specialist training in neurosurgery, after which he headed the intensive monitoring department in the hospital in the Friedrichshain district . In 1990 he took over the post of senior physician in the neurosurgery department. From 1977 to 1989 he was a member of the FDGB .

In 1989 Meier joined the GDR CDU . In 1990 he took over the office of the local association chairman and also took over a post on the district committee of his party. From May to December 1990 he was a member of the East Berlin city ​​council . After reunification he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In both parliaments he acted as the health policy spokesman for his group. He was a member of the House of Representatives until 2001.
