Ulmo Ocin is a fictional character that was created as part of the television program Mein bester Feind .

biography

The figure of Ulmo Ocin was embodied by Nico Eiselt from Roding . He had been registered by a friend on the TV show Mein bester Feind by Joko and Klaas and was given the task of performing several appearances as an ethno-pop singer. For this he was externally transformed into an elf based on the model of Legolas from the book adaptation The Lord of the Rings . His fictional name was composed of the name of Valars Ulmo , which comes from the Tolkien universe, and the reversed first name Nico . A song called Mandalo was created, written and produced by Nicolas Keil. Keil hired the musician Matthias Stockert from Ansbach as the singer . An elaborate video in which Eiselt played the singer was then published on the Internet. There were also appearances in front of the main train station in Cologne and in the first edition of Teamwork - Spiel mit Ihr Star , where he sang the song to the playback , as well as an advertising appearance on the sidelines of the world premiere of The Hunger Games in Berlin . Background and identity were kept top secret until the 5th edition of Mein bester Feind was broadcast on January 9, 2016.

The song was viewed over two million times on YouTube, including the time after it was discovered , and Mandalo made it to the top of the viewing list on Spotify . It was also available as a download and hit the German single charts . The official Facebook page received over 40,000 likes and uninvolved fans also created several fan pages. In the show itself, Nico Eiselt missed the win and took second place in the other tasks.
