Uloborus walckenaerius is a species from the genus of feather-foot spiders ( Uloborus ) within the family of curling-wheel web spiders (Uloboridae), which is native to the entire Palearctic . It was first described in 1806 by the French entomologist Pierre André Latreille .

Uloborus walckenaerius has a dark gray front body ( prosoma ), which is covered with white hair, with some dark, gray to black longitudinal ligaments remaining free. The pattern of the prosoma continues on the downy, hairy back of the body ( opisthosoma ). The opisthosoma has no bumps. The sternum is black, the legs are dark gray to reddish brown with indistinct white ringing. The legs of the first and second pair of legs are particularly long. The males are 3 to 4 millimeters long, the females 4 to 6 millimeters.

Uloborus walckenaerius lives in warm, open areas such as pagans , and moves close to the ground horizontal, bluish cribellate orb webs between heather and gorse bushes . The wheel network sometimes shows a stabilization. The spider lurks below the hub. The female hangs an elongated cocoon with 70 to 100 eggs on the edge of the net. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland it can only be found in warm places. It is missing further north. Uloborus walckenaerius is extinct or missing in Baden-Württemberg, and is threatened with extinction in Brandenburg and Bavaria.
