Ulrich Caspar (born May 31, 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1975, Caspar studied industrial engineering in Darmstadt and economics in Frankfurt am Main until he graduated with a degree in business administration. Later he also studied part-time: political science, history and sociology. He founded his company in 1981 and has been run as a GmbH since 1985. This company invests in developable real estate, advises on large construction and real estate projects and is active in corporate and financial consulting. In addition to Germany, it also carried out projects in the USA, Switzerland and France. Responsibility for society, sustainability and social competence are important to the company. The company is a member of the real estate exchange of the IHK Frankfurt am Main.

Politics and volunteering

Ulrich Caspar has been a member of the CDU since 1975, where he held various board positions.

From 1981 to 1989 he was a member of the Frankfurt 7 local advisory board, of which from 1981 to 1985 he was mayor.

From 1989 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2001 Ulrich Caspar was a member of the Frankfurt Umlandverband , from 2001 to 2004 and 2008 to 2009 he was an honorary city councilor in Frankfurt am Main.

Caspar was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 2003 until January 17, 2019. There he is the deputy chairman of the environmental committee, member of the committee for economy and transport, spokesman for the financial center Frankfurt and transport and housing policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and CDU spokesman in the subcommittee for expellees, resettlers, refugees and reparations. Caspar was always elected in the constituency of Frankfurt am Main II .

He volunteers in the IHK plenary assembly, building and real estate committee, transport committee; Board member Haus & Grund Frankfurt; VhU building and real estate committee. On May 9, 2019 he was elected President of the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce .
