Ulrich Furbach

Ulrich Furbach (* 1948 ) is a German computer scientist and professor of computer science at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

Life

Furbach studied at the Technical University of Munich and did his doctorate at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich on transformation rules and non-deterministic recursive function definitions. He then completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Munich on functions of Horn clause logic , where he headed the Automated Reasoning working group from 1987 to 1990. In 1990 he was offered a position as a university professor in Koblenz.

Furbach was president of CADE Inc, member of the board of ECCAI and spokesman in the KI department of GI eV He is an ECCAI and GI fellow and founder and partner of wizAI solutions GmbH.

Research and Teaching

One focus of his research is artificial intelligence ; his research interests include automatic proofing , knowledge management , multi-agent systems, and cognitive science.

Trivia

With his partner Ulrike Barthelmeß he writes on AI topics. Furbach also works as a yoga teacher using the Marma-Yoga method by Rocque Lobo .
