Ulrich Glassmann

Ulrich Glassmann (* 1970 in Cologne ) is a German political scientist .

Life

After completing his master's degree in political science, history and philosophy at the University of Cologne (1997), he was a doctoral candidate at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies . In 2005 he was at the University of Osnabrueck to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . His dissertation, which deals with the influence of the state system on the local economy in Germany and Italy, was awarded the Europa-Förderpreis donated by Hans-Gert Pöttering .

After that, Glassmann was visiting scholar at the Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca sul Cambiamento Politico at the University of Siena in the 2006/2007 winter semester . In 2007 he was appointed to the temporary academic council at the chair for comparative political science at the University of Cologne . From 2013 to 2015 he was a professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz . Since 2016 he has been Professor of Comparative Institutional Analysis at the European University of Flensburg .

He researches cooperation and conflict patterns of economic and political actors in collective action dilemmas. His area focus is on the economies of the Mediterranean region.
