Ulrich Kündig

Ulrich Kündig (born November 2, 1935 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss documentary filmmaker , screenwriter and director . From 1980 to 1988 he was director of Swiss television .

Life

Ulrich Kündig completed his Matura at the Gymnasium in Winterthur and graduated in 1960 from the School of Design in Zurich as a qualified photographer.

In the next few years he worked in various functions at Condor Films in film production as a production manager, cameraman, screenwriter and director. For this he received numerous awards at international film festivals. During this time, the multi-award-winning short film Schellen-Ursli was made .

In parallel, he was also in theater and opera in the design of film projections as part of the Gesamtkunstwerk worked: At the Zurich Opera House , the Schauspielhaus Zurich and at the State Operas Munich and Stuttgart.

In 1972 he became head of training at Swiss television , then coordinator of a major reorganization, and then head of corporate planning at SRG. After taking office in 1980 as director of Swiss television, Kündig then initiated the reforms that led to program 85.

From 1994 to 1998 Kündig was director of Schweizer Radio International.

In 1998 Ulrich Kündig founded his own company "polycom", which is active in the areas of media training for electronic media and advice on radio projects in Eastern Europe.

In 1988, Ulrich Kündig was succeeded by Peter Schellenberg as television director .
