Peter Schellenberg

Peter Schellenberg (born March 15, 1940 in Zurich ; † April 15, 2021 ) was a Swiss journalist . From 1988 to 2003 he was director of Swiss television .

Life

Schellenberg did a commercial apprenticeship. He began working for Swiss television in 1964 as an editor and presenter. He also worked as a lecturer at the St. Gallen School of Journalism .

In 2002 he was criticized for his management style in connection with the dismissal of editor-in-chief Filippo Leutenegger . Schellenberg's successor was Ingrid Deltenre .

After his retirement at the end of March 2004, he hosted a bi-weekly jazz program for Radio Munot . From autumn 2008 he was responsible for quality assurance at the Basel regional television broadcaster Telebasel .

Peter Schellenberg was married and had two sons. He lived in Zurich and Marseille .
