Ingrid Ella Deltenre (born August 25, 1960 in Wettingen ) is a Dutch - Swiss manager and entrepreneur . From 2004 to 2009 she was Director of Swiss Television , from 2010 to 2017 Head of the General Directorate of the European Broadcasting Union in Geneva . She is a member of various boards of directors .

Career

After studying pedagogy , journalism and biological anthropology in Zurich, Deltenre worked as general secretary of the Swiss Press Association . She then moved to the Ringier publishing house , initially in the business development department, and finally took on the management of the business newspaper Cash for almost five years .

She then worked for four years as the director of publisuisse , a subsidiary of the Swiss radio and television company that was entrusted with the sale of advertising time. In January 2003 she was elected director of Swiss television DRS (from December 2005 Swiss television). The election was hotly debated in the media because it had been proposed to the regional council of the Swiss television DRS as the only candidate for election. In addition, reference was made to her limited journalistic experience. At the beginning of 2004 she took over the office from Peter Schellenberg , who held it from 1988 to 2003 and retired due to old age, and held it until 2009.

From April 2005 to November 2010, Deltenre was President of the Board of Directors of the production company tv productioncenter zürich ag . From January 1, 2010 to summer 2017, she was Head of the Directorate General of the European Broadcasting Union in Geneva.

She is a member of the boards of directors of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (2014), Givaudan (2015), Agence France Press (2017), Sunrise Communications AG (2018) and has been a member of the Deutsche Post DHL Group since 2016 . In 2019 she received the “Swiss Board Member of the Year” award from the consulting company Mercuri Urval . She is President of the Executive Committee of the Executive MBA at the University of Zurich and has been a board member of Schweizer Berghilfe since May 2019 .

Personal

Deltenre was born in Wettingen as a Dutch national . At the end of 2009 she was naturalized in her municipality of Zollikon . Her current life partner is Sacha Wigdorovits .
