Ulrich Schulte-Wülwer

Ulrich Schulte-Wülwer (born December 15, 1944 in Meppen ) is a German art historian . The focus of his work is on the art of the 19th and 20th centuries and painting in Northern Germany .

Life

Schulte-Wülwer completed his studies in art history in Münster, Berlin and Kiel in 1974 with a doctorate. He then went to Flensburg as curator of the then Municipal Museum for Art and Cultural History for the Duchy of Schleswig . In 1983 he became its director. In 2002, the then Prime Minister Heide Simonis appointed the head of the building, which has now been expanded to the Museum Mountain , as an honorary professor . He has been retired since the end of 2009. He is president of the Harro-Harring-Gesellschaft , based in Husum, and chairman of the supervisory board of the Museum of Art on the West Coast in Alkersum on Föhr .

Schulte-Wülwer is the holder of the Order of Merit of the State of Schleswig-Holstein , which was awarded to him on May 5, 2011.
