Life

The guitarist Ulrik Neumann began his career in the 1930s in a duo with his sister, the singer Gerda Neumann. They performed mainly in Denmark and Norway , also during the German occupation, in which they tried to circumvent the performance restrictions imposed on musicians as much as possible. In 1946 he married the Swedish actress Stina Sorbon. In the late 1950s he became a member of the Swe-Danes trio , together with the Danish jazz violinist Svend Asmussen and the Swedish singer Alice Babs . This group successfully toured Europe and the United States. After the trio split up in 1961, there was still a collaboration with Svend Asmussen as a duo. He then founded the trio 3 x Neumann together with his daughter Ulla Neumann and his son Mikael Neumann . In addition to his work as a guitarist, Ulrik Neumann recorded a number of records and played as an actor in various films, for which he also wrote some of the film scores. One of his most famous compositions is Love Waltz .
