Ulrike Zerhau

Ulrike Zerhau (* 1954 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life

Zerhau has a degree in sociology and is a vocational school teacher . Since the 1980s, she worked as a union secretary, most recently as education secretary at ver.di . She was a member of the SPD from 1974 to 2004 . Then she was a member of the board of the WASG before it merged with the PDS to form the Left Party. At their party congress, Zerhau was elected deputy party chairman with 548 votes in favor (79.3 percent), 83 against and 60 abstentions . At the 1st party conference in Cottbus in May 2008, she was re-elected.
