Ulster-Scots Agency
The Ulster-Scots Agency (Ulster Scots: Tha Boord o Ulstèr-Scotch , other variants are: Tha Ulstèr-Scotch Agentrie and The Ulster-Scots Agentrie ) is a cross-border corporation in Northern Ireland and Ireland whose task it is to promote, research and to support the conservation and development of the Ulster Scots as a living language . It is designed to continue to promote the full range of the Ulster Scots culture and help develop it.
tasks
The institution is one of two agencies of the North / South Language Body , which was agreed as a cross-border body under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement with the task of promoting the languages spoken on the island of Ireland. Foras na Gaeilge is the counterpart and promotes the Irish language .
- Publication of a voice letter called "The Ulster-Scot" as a supplement to the "Belfast News Letter" (free of charge)
- Support of schools with teaching materials and language courses
- Supporting and promoting projects in the field of Ulster Scots language and culture
