Ulster History Park

The 35 hectare Ulster History Park in Gortin Glen, north of Omagh in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland , is one of the younger but also most comprehensive archaeological open air museums , which shows the history of the last 10,000 years up to the early Middle Ages in Ireland through reconstructions. The construction costs are given at £ 6 million. The park also has a small museum . The park, which was completed in 1993, was closed to the regular public in 2005, as it could not be operated profitably due to a lack of visitor flow. It is opened briefly for larger groups of visitors and events.
