Ultimo at the Sanremo Festival 2018

Ultimo (* 27. January 1996 in Rome as Niccolò Moriconi ) is an Italian pop singer and rapper . He became famous for his victory in the Newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival 2018 .

Career

At the age of eight, Moriconi began to learn the piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory , and at 14 he was already writing his own songs.

In 2015 he worked with Giancarlo Giannini in the song Un uomo migliore . In 2016 he won a hip-hop competition from the independent label Honiro , with whom he subsequently worked. In May 2017 he had an appearance as the opening act of Fabrizio Moro in Rome, in September he performed during the Honiro Label Party at MACRO . Ultimo's first single was Chiave , which was followed by the debut album Pianeti in October 2017 .

On December 15, 2017, he qualified for the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival 2018 in the television program Sarà Sanremo with the contribution Il ballo delle incertezze . On February 9, 2018 Ultimo released his second album Peter Pan; on the same day he won the newcomer category of the festival and was also awarded the Premio Lunezia for the best text.

After a successful tour and more singles, Ultimo entered the main category at the Sanremo Festival 2019 . With I tuoi particolari he was almost defeated by Mahmood in the final , but was awarded the TIMmusic special prize for the most successful song on the TIM streaming service.
