The bypass road from S. Cristina in Val Gardena is a bypass that starts at the western end of S. Cristina in Val Gardena (km 16.995 of the Val Gardena road ) over several bridges and two tunnels to about 300 m east of S. Cristina (km 18.490, municipality of Selva ) leads. It was completed in the summer of 2009 and helps relieve the town center of St. Christina, especially during the peak times of the main season.

description

The bypass road of St. Christina leads from the existing Grödner Straße at the entrance to St. Christina over the bridge west (73 m) over the Grödner Bach . The route leads into the Monte Pana tunnel (475 m), crosses the ski bike path and the Grödner Bach with the Monte Pana bridge and joins the roundabout (middle node). After the roundabout, the bypass road with the Saslong bridge crosses the Grödner Bach and the ski bike path again, changes to the municipality of Selva and passes under the Saslong slope with the Saslong tunnel (375 m) . With the bridge east, the bypass crosses the Grödner Bach and flows into the existing Grödner Straße. In the area of the east junction, the bypass road runs about 3 m lower than the existing SS 242; the Dorives location is accessed through an underpass. The approach towards the town center connects the town entrance and the town exit in the form of a T-junction with the new bypass; the roundabout "node center" enables departure in all directions of traffic (bypass, town center, lifts, parking lots).

The golden bridge

Between November 7th and 27th, 2009, a gold-colored bridge railing was installed on the West Bridge. During the night, the bridge is illuminated with different colors by means of LED lights to enable a play of light.
