The Grödner Bach (also called Dirsching , Italian Rio Gardena , Ladin Derjon , in old documents also Dursan ) is one of the larger tributaries of the Eisack with 25.8 kilometers and a catchment area of 199 km² . It drains the Val Gardena and flows into the Eisack near Waidbruck . The stream is used to generate electricity. The most important tributaries are the Langentalbach , Cislesbach and Annabach on the right side; the Ampezanbach and Jenderbach on the left. At Waidbruck, the A22 Brenner motorway and the Brenner railway line cross the stream.

Important places on the Grödner Bach are Selva di Val Gardena , St. Christina in Val Gardena and Ortisei Val Gardena . The municipal boundaries in Val Gardena are in many cases the Gardena stream itself or its tributaries.
