Environmental physics

The science of environmental physics has the task of using physical methods to research physical processes in the environment .

The following physical methods, among others, have established themselves in environmental research :

• Mass spectrometry ,
• Radiometry ,
• Spectroscopy .

The environmental systems that are examined are, for example:

• the earth's atmosphere (air, gas envelope),
• the biosphere (flora and fauna),
• the hydrosphere (oceans, lakes, rivers, groundwater) or
• the cryosphere (ice, glacier, snow).
