Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT, German Eine neue Epoche ) is a social democratic party in Venezuela .
It was founded in 1999 by Manuel Rosales , who was governor of Zulia from 2000 to 2008 and who ran in 2006 as a common candidate for the opposition parties against Hugo Chávez in the presidential elections. The party is part of the opposition alliance Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), founded in 2008 .
In the 2015 parliamentary elections , 18 UNT candidates entered the National Assembly on the MUD's lists. Behind Primero Justicia and Acción Democrática , Un Nuevo Tiempo is the third largest component of the opposition bloc, which now has a parliamentary majority. The UNT politician Stalin González has been the majority leader in the National Assembly since January 2017.
The party has been an associate member of the Socialist International since 2013 .
