Unai Etxebarria
Unai Etxebarria Arana (born November 21, 1972 in Caracas ) is a former Venezuelan cyclist .
Life
Unai Etxebarria began his career in 1996 with the Basque cycling team Euskadi , with which he will remain until the end of his career. Usually the team only signed riders from the Basque Country , but since his parents are Basques , he joined the team anyway. He celebrated his first success in 1998 on the Tour of Portugal when he won two stages.
In the 2000 season he was then able to win a stage at the Setmana Catalana and the Klasika Primavera . In the summer of 2001, he won a stage of the Dauphiné Libéré and came a short time later in the Tour de France squad. He celebrated his greatest success so far in 2003 when he won a stage of the Vuelta a España . In 2004 he started the road race at the Olympic Games in Athens and finished 31st. His last victory was at the Trofeo Calvia in 2007.
After the 2007 season, Etxebarria ended his career.
