The Unertl Weissbier Brewery is a wheat beer brewery in Haag in Upper Bavaria .

history

In 1948 Alois Unertl, a son of the wheat beer brewer Unertl in Mühldorf , took over a microbrewery with a pub. Right from the start, the brewery specialized in the production of wheat beer . In 1952 today's brewery was built. The product, previously called Haager Weissbier , has been called Unertl since then . The brewery is now run by the fourth generation as a family business, and the family can look back on over a hundred years of brewing experience. The brewery's output is 27,000 hectoliters per year.

Brewing process

All types of beer in the brewery are fermented in open vats and the yeast is harvested daily. The beers are made with 70 percent wheat malt, fermented in the bottle, not preserved, not stabilized and not pasteurized.

Award

In 2009 the Süddeutsche Zeitung listed the Weissbier Original as one of the 100 best beers in the world.

Products

The product range includes the beer Weissbier Original , Light White , Non-alcoholic wheat beer , Ursud and seasonal Weisser Bock . A wheat beer bock schnapps is also produced. Is filled into Kronkorkenflaschen that wheat beer stock and the Ursud in flip-top bottles .

Others

The brewery is a member of the Brauring , a cooperation between private breweries from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
