The Unic P107 (also Unic-Kegresse ) is a French half-track vehicle from the 1930s, which was primarily designed as a tractor for pulling artillery pieces and their ammunition trailers as well as for transporting pioneering material . It was also used in World War II from 1940 .

history

In the 1920s and 1930s who developed French automobile - and commercial vehicle manufacturer Citroën a long series of half-tracks based on the patent of Adolphe Kégresse . In 1934, the company introduced its newest and more powerful model, the P107, as the successor to the Citroën-Kégresse P17 . But before series production could start, Citroën went bankrupt and the new owner - the tire manufacturer Michelin  - decided to focus on vehicles for the civilian market.

The well-known French commercial vehicle manufacturer Unic was therefore able to acquire a license for the Kégresse patent for the track drive in the same year 1934 and took over the production of the P107 in its own name.

Two versions of the Unic P107 were built for use by the French army :

More than 2000 units of the Unic P107 were built by 1940 and were in service with the French military after the outbreak of World War II .

After the French campaign in 1940, which was victorious for the German Reich , the Unic P107 was taken over and used as a captured vehicle by the Wehrmacht under the designation Leichter Zugkraftwagen 305 (f) . In the Wehrmacht, the vehicle was also known as the Unic Kegresse .
