Floorball Bernese Oberland is a Swiss Floorball Association from farms near Thun in the Bernese Oberland , the first team in the Swiss National League A play.
history
The association in TV Höfen has its origins in the formerly independent municipality of Höfen near Thun (since 2014 part of the municipality of Stocken-Höfen ), which first took part in the Swiss floorball championships in 1987/88. In 1995 the floorball department became independent and acted as UHC Höfen . In 1999/2000, the women of the UHC Höfen achieved their first promotion to the National League B. Over the years, the UHC Höfen developed from a village club to a broader top-class and popular sports club that was no longer just a village club. In the top area, a collaboration with UHC Thun has also been established, whereby juniors from C-junior levels play at UHC Thun. In return, the top sport is among the women at UHC Höfen, who rose to the National League A for the first time in 2005 and were promoted and relegated several times over the next few years.
In March 2014 the club was renamed to its current name Unihockey Berner Oberland as a result of general developments . In the current 2015/16 season, the top team is back in the top division.
The 2015/16 season did not go as planned for Floorball Bernese Oberland. After 21 games and no victory, the team was eighth and last in the National League A at the end of the season. No game could be won in the playouts either. As a result, the first team had to compete against the National League B representative of the UH Red Lions Frauenfeld. In the promotion / relegation playoffs, the Bernese Oberland lost to the team from the canton of Thurgau. After only one year in the top division, the club will be relegated to the second highest Swiss league.
