Union Edelweiss Linz is a sports club from the Neue Heimat district of Linz .

The club operates the club's own Edelweiss stadium with 2000 seats.

Successes International Union Edelweiß took part in three European cup competitions. In the 1968 and 1970 seasons , the club took part in the IHF European Field Handball Cup as national champions . In 1968 this tournament was organized by Union Edelweiß Linz. In the 1970/71 season , the club took part in the European Champion Clubs' Cup.

Soccer

The club plays in the Upper Austrian League . In the 2013/14 season the club was in the final of the Baunti Cup and was defeated by SV Grün-Weiß Micheldorf . In 2019 they finally got this trophy. On May 13, 2019, the team under the then coach Andreas Gahleitner won the Landescup with a 4-0 win against SC Schwanenstadt. The final was played in the Welser Huber Arena. This success enabled Union Edelweiss Linz to take part in the Austrian Football Cup for the first time. In the first cup round on July 20, 2019, they played against Bundesliga club FC Flyeralarm Admira. After a 0: 5 defeat, this chapter was quickly done again. Nevertheless, it was the greatest success of the football section in the club's history.
