The national champions of Austria , the Federal Republic of Germany , Switzerland and the Netherlands took part in the 1968 IHF European Field Handball Cup. The 1967 season served as the basis for qualification. In the first staging of the competition, the German representative TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen prevailed, and Herbert Lübking was also the top scorer. The tournament took place on June 1 and 2, 1968 in Linz .

Tournament mode

The four participating teams competed in a round-robin tournament , with each team having to compete once against each other team. The team with the most points after these encounters won. In the event of a tie between two or more teams, the better goal difference was decisive.
