Fritz Schillmann (born April 28, 1940 ) is a former German handball player and coach . He became German champion with TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen .

Career

Schillmann played at VfL Wittingen until 1966 and then moved to TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen. So he was a player at the beginning of the handball Bundesliga as well as at the beginning of the field handball Bundesliga a year later. On the field, Schillmann became German champion in 1967 with Dankersen and took part in the European Cup , which was held for the first time in the following year . Here, too, he was instrumental in winning the title and later defending it. In November 1969 he moved back to VfL Wittingen, where he stayed for three years at TSV and commuted to every training session and game.

In Wittingen he became a player coach and later coached both the women's and men's teams at VfL Wolfsburg .

Schillmann made his debut on January 16, 1964 in Munster for the national team of the Federal Republic of Germany against the Netherlands . In total, he completed eight international matches for the selection, in which he scored 15 goals. Among other things, he took part in the 1964 World Cup in Czechoslovakia . For the German national B team, he scored ten times in four games.
