Jürgen Glombek (born November 24, 1942 in Bromberg , German Reich ) is a former German handball player and coach . The circle runner was German champion with TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen .

Career

Glombek began playing handball at VfB Herford when he was ten . In October 1965 he moved to the German indoor runner-up TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen. Two weeks later, the next final of the German championship was due. Against BSV Solingen 98 they lost on the field with 14:15 after extra time. Glombek was not yet eligible to play for this game. Two years later he was still able to win the title with Dankersen. In the 1967 final , TV Großwallstadt was defeated 19:16. As a result, the team qualified for the first ever field handball European Cup . Here he was involved in the title wins in 1968 and 1969. In January 1970 he joined the district league club TuS Nettelstedt . Several Dankerser stars (including Herbert Lübking ) followed him. With this Nettelstedter team, Glombek rose to the next higher league every year, both indoors and on the field. In 1975 he was again in the final of the German field handball championship . Despite a 7-0 lead, TSG Haßloch lost 14:15. After promotion to the Bundesliga in 1976 in the hall, he played one more season in the top German division. After that he played a few more times for the club's senior team.

In the 1980/81 season, Glombek initially took over the district division TV Gut Heil Petershagen as a coach. In January 1981 he was hired by TV Lenzinghausen and moved to TuS Minderheide at the end of the season . After a year he went back to Petershagen. He later became a player-coach at HSG Barkhausen. At the beginning of the 1984/85 season he was responsible for the TuS Hartum. In March 1985, however, the separation followed.

Glombek made his debut on March 20, 1966 in the qualifying game for the 1967 World Cup against Belgium in Mannheim for the national team of the Federal Republic of Germany . He completed a total of eleven assignments for the selection.
