The TV Lenzinghausen (officially: Turnverein Lenzinghausen eV ) is a sports club from the Spenger district of Lenzinghausen in the Herford district . The first women's handball team once took part in the women's DHB Cup .

history

The association was created in 1924 through the merger of TV Deutsche Eiche Lenzinghausen and TV Eintracht Lenzinghausen . Deutsche Eiche was the association of the Lenzinghauser Osten, while Eintracht stood for the west of the place and was a pure gymnastics club . In addition to handball, the TVL also offers aerobics , unicycle , parent-child gymnastics , fitness , health and wellness , karate , rehab , dance and gymnastics mice , table tennis and Wellform equipment circles .

Women's handball

The handball players were promoted to the Regionalliga Nord in 2000 and had to relegate to the Oberliga Westfalen after only one season . In the 2006/07 season , the team took part in the DHB Cup. Via the second team of the DJK / MJC Trier and the Königsborner SV , the TVL moved into the third round, where the team had no chance against the Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV and clearly lost with 14:40. In 2011 the team became champions of the Oberliga Westfalen. For financial reasons, the club waived promotion and the team was withdrawn. Since relegation in 2016, the team has been back in the district league.

Men's handball

The men's team rose in 1977 in the Oberliga Westfalen. The descent followed twenty years later. At the same time, the handball players formed the HSG Spenge / Lenzinghausen with local rivals TuS Spenge , which, however, fell apart two years later. TuS Spenge took over the place in the regional league , while TV Lenzinghausen had to continue in a lower division. In the 2014/15 season, the team entered the district league B.
