Gerd Enders (born March 6, 1924 in Glauchau ; † April 27, 2016 in Landsberg am Lech ) was a German handball coach . With the BSV Solingen 98 and the TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen he was German field handball champion .
Career
Enders was a member of the coaching council of the Soviet zone and, after an accident in 1959, met the chairman of BSV Solingen 98 Heinz Dahmann in the hospital. 1960 Dahmann signed him as a trainer. With Solingen he was in the final of the German field handball championship for the first time in 1963. However, the game was lost 6: 9 against VfL Wolfsburg . In the 1965 final against Grün-Weiß Dankersen the title was won with 15:14 after extra time. In October 1965 he left Solingen and in March 1966 became head of the sports department in Minden . In the course of this he was also coach Grün-Weiß Dankersens and was able to win the championship title again with the club in 1967. In the final, the TV Großwallstadt could be defeated with 19:16. The victory also qualified for the first European field handball cup , which was also won. The separation followed in December 1968. In the 1970/71 season Enders trained TuS Spenge . In 1972 he was to lead the Mexican national team to the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich . However, qualification was missed. The contacts arose from a trip by the Dankers championship team in 1967 to the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City . In the 1973/74 season he was responsible for the women's team at TuS Eintracht Minden . From 1977 to 1979 he coached TV Germania Nordhemmern .

Private life and death
Enders was married and had a son. He wrote books on submarines and played tennis. After a serious traffic accident in 1979 on the way back from a skiing holiday, the trained sports teacher took early retirement in 1985.
Gerd Enders died on April 27, 2016.
