The United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina ( English United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina , UNMIBH ) was based on the UN Resolution 1035 of 21 December 1995 and took place from December 1995 to December 2002.

The aim of the UN mandate was to implement the civil part of the Dayton Agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina .

Was led UNMIBH from / to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Coordinator of United Nations Operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (literally as "coordinator of United Nations operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina). This coordinator was the responsible for the police service Police Commissioner of the IPTF .

The staff for UNMIBH was through Egypt , Argentina , Bangladesh , Bulgaria , Federal Republic of Germany , Chile , Denmark , Estonia , Fiji , Finland, France , Ghana , Greece , Great Britain , India , Indonesia , Ireland , Italy , Iceland , Jordan , Canada , Kenya , Lithuania , Malaysia , Nepal , Netherlands , Nigeria , Norway , Austria , Pakistan , Poland , Portugal , Romania , Russia , Sweden , Switzerland , Senegal , Spain , Thailand , Tunisia , Turkey , Ukraine , Hungary , Luxembourg and the USA .

Twelve members of the mission were killed in the mission: eight police officers, three local civilians, and one military officer.
