United Progressive Party (Antigua and Barbuda)

United Progressive Party ( UPP ) is a political party in Antigua and Barbuda .

history

The party was formed in 1992 through the merger of the three parties Antigua Caribbean Liberation Movement , Progressive Labor Movement and United National Democratic Party . The current chairman of the party is Winston Baldwin Spencer .

Results of the party in elections

In the elections on March 24, 2004, the party received 55.3 percent of the vote and won 12 of 17 seats in parliament. The opposition Antigua Labor Party won 41.8 percent of the vote and received 4 seats.

The penultimate parliamentary elections took place in March 2009 and the current parliamentary elections in June 2014 in Antigua and Barbuda.
