Unitile ( Russian Юнитайл ) is a Russian group of companies engaged in the manufacture and sale of cladding panels, porcelain stoneware, tiles , decorations and bricks. The holding company was founded in 2007 on the “Strojfarfor” site, which was the main Russian producer of cladding panels at the time. Production takes place in Shakhty , southern Russia and Voronezh , central Russia.

history

In the early 2000s, the Russian economy had rapid construction volume growth . According to the Russian Statistical Service, the domestic construction industry experienced an average annual growth of 10 to 14 percent between 2003 and 2008. The total Russian cladding panel market grew by 20 to 25% per year. This was due to the frequent replacement of outdated technologies, e.g. B. water-based painting applications for walls etc.

In 2007, Russian businessman Lazar Shaulov merged all of his companies to form Unitile Holding in order to improve asset management. The holding consisted of the “Strojfarfor” plant ( Shakhty city ), the high-melting clay mine in Stanitsa Vladimirovskaya ( Rostov Oblast ), the Voronezh ceramics factory ( Voronezh city ), the “Quartz” factory ( Saint Petersburg ) and the “Markinsky” brick factory (village Markin, Rostov Oblast). When the group was founded, it controlled the production of around 25 percent of the facing panels and ceramic porcelain tiles.

According to the official holding website, the total volume of facing and ceramic tiles produced by the group of companies is around 26 million square meters per year. The Shakhty town tile plant (the former Strojfarfor plant) is still the group's main production asset. The Shakhty plant produces around 17.6 million square meters, and the Voronezh plant - 8.4 million square meters of facing and ceramic tiles per year. In 2018, the total volume of the Russian market was estimated at around 200 million square meters by consulting company IndexBox. Total domestic production of facing and ceramic porcelain tiles reached 172 million square meters.
