Richárd Guzmics (born April 16, 1987 in Szombathely ) is a Hungarian football player . The defender played for the Polish first division club Wisła Krakau from 2014 to January 2017 . In January he moved to China to the Chinese first division club Yanbian Funde FC . Since 2012 Guzmics has been playing for the Hungarian national football team with a longer break .

Career

In the summer of 2005, Guzmics moved from the U-19s to Haladás Szombathely's first team. He played for the club for nine years. From the 2008/09 season even in the highest Hungarian league, the Nemzeti Bajnokság . He was also able to celebrate his debut in international club football with Haladás Szombathely. After reaching 3rd place in the preseason, he took part with the club in qualifying for the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League . Guzmics played all games until they were eliminated in the 2nd round. In 2014 he left the club.

In September 2014 he moved to Wisła Krakow in Poland. He made his debut in the Ekstraklasa of the highest Polish division on September 28, 2014. In the 1-0 defeat by KS Cracovia on matchday 10, he was on the field for over 90 minutes. The 2015/16 season ended Krakow as the best team in the relegation round. Guzmics moved to the Chinese Yanbian Funde FC in January 2017 .

National team

Guzmics played for the U-19 and U-21 of Hungary. He made his senior national team debut on November 14, 2012, in a friendly against Norway . He came in the 74th minute of play when the score was 0: 1 for captain Roland Juhász in the game. The game was lost 2-0. After playing six more appearances in 2013, including four games in qualifying for the 2014 World Cup , he then had to wait almost two years for his next appearance. On September 4, 2015 he was used again in the first game under the new national coach Bernd Storck . In the European Championship qualifier against Romania he was substituted on as in his first game for Juhász, but this time already after 25 minutes. Three days later, he scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland in the 74th minute. The Hungarians had to accept the equalizer in stoppage time. He was then also used in the playoffs against Norway , with which Hungary qualified again after 44 years for a European Championship finals, where he played over 90 minutes in both games.

On May 9th he was appointed to the provisional EM squad and on May 31st he was also considered for the final squad. After being nominated for the squad, he played a 90-minute mission in the last friendly in the 2-0 defeat against world champions Germany . In the tournament he was part of the regular team and played all games over the full playing time. Hungary reached the round of 16 and were eliminated by Belgium.
