The Universal Computer Protocol (UCP) is used to exchange short messages between an SMSC and other network elements. For software developers, LogicaCMG Telecoms (now Acision ) had an API for different operating systems ( Linux , Digital Unix , Windows and Solaris ) as well as a detailed UCP specification.
