The University Matsuyama ( Jap. 松山大学 , Matsuyama daigaku ) is a private university in Japan . The main campus is in Matsuyama in Ehime Prefecture .
history
The university was founded in 1923 by the entrepreneur Chōjirō Nitta ( 新 田 長 次郎 , 1857-1936) under the name Higher Commercial School Matsuyama ( 松山 高等 商業 学校 , Matsuyama kōtō shōgyō gakkō ). It was a 3-year technical school for boys aged 17 and over. It was renamed the Matsuyama School of Economics ( 松山 経 済 専 門 学校 , Matsuyama keizai semmon gakkō ) in 1944 , and in 1949 it developed into the Matsuyama Coeducational Commercial University ( 松山 商科 大学 , Matsuyama shōka daigaku ).
The commercial university was opened with a faculty (economics). In 1962 the faculty was divided into two faculties. Over the years, the university established more faculties and was renamed Matsuyama University in 1989.

The faculties are located on the main Bunkyō campus ( 33 ° 51 ′ 0.6 ″ N , 132 ° 46 ′ 3 ″ E, ). Sports facilities and medicinal herb gardens are located on the Miyuki campus ( 33 ° 51 ′ 20.8 ″ N , 132 ° 46 ′ 2.5 ″ E ).
