The University of Politics and Law of Northwest China ( Chinese 西北 政法 大学 , Pinyin Xīběi Zhèngfǎ Dàxué , English Northwest University of Politics and Law ) (abbr .: NWUPL) is a Chinese university in Xi'an , the capital of Shaanxi Province in the northwest of the People's Republic China .
Before 2006 it was called "Northwest China University of Political Science and Law" ( Chinese 西北 政法 学院 , Pinyin Xīběi Zhèngfǎ Xuéyùan , English Northwest Institute of Politics and Law ). It was founded in 1937 and is one of the oldest political and legal educational institutions in the People's Republic of China.
