The University of International Business (UIB) ( Russian Университет UIB) is a university in the Kazakh city of Almaty . It was founded in 1992 and has more than 2000 students and almost 200 employees.

history

The University of International Business was founded in 1992 as the School of Business, which emerged as an independent institution from the Kazakh State Academy of Management. Ten years after its founding, it is elevated to today's University of International Business.

In 2002 the university opened a branch in the Kazakh capital of Astana (Nur-Sultan since 2019) . In addition, a graduate school was opened in Almaty and a partnership with the American University of Wisconsin – Madison was established. In 2006 they agreed to work with the Riga International School of Economics and Management in Riga, Latvia, and in 2007 with the University of Bologna in Italy .

Since 2008 the UIB has also been working with the European Commission to develop standards for distance learning and the accreditation system in Kazakhstan.
