Uno Lõhmus

Uno Lõhmus (born October 21, 1952 in Mõisaküla ) is an Estonian lawyer.

Career

Uno Lõhmus graduated in 1976 with a degree in Law at the University of Tartu from. From 1977 he worked as a lawyer. In 1986 he received his doctorate from Leningrad University . In 1992, shortly after Estonian regained independence, Lõhmus and partners founded the law firm Lillo & Lõhmus in Tartu .

From 1994 to 1998 Uno Lõhmus was a judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg , from 1998 to 2004 he was chairman of the Estonian State Court in Tartu . From May 11, 2004 to October 23, 2013, Uno Lõhmus was an Estonian judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg .

In addition, Uno Lõhmus was a lecturer in criminal law at the University of Tartu. He appeared as the author of numerous legal publications, especially on international human rights protection and constitutional law .

Private life

Uno Lõhmus is married and has two children.
