Our Lady of Vladimir (Penzberg)

The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Wladimir is located in the Penzberg district of Steigenberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau . As part of the parish Christkönig Penzberg, the church belongs to the Benediktbeuern deanery in the diocese of Augsburg . The address is Pater-Sabino-Weg 2 .

history

After the Second World War , the population of Penzberg grew rapidly and the new Steigenberg-Fischhaber district emerged. Therefore, in 1955 , Bishop Joseph Freundorfer agreed to the establishment of a second Penzberg city parish next to the Christkönig city parish, which had existed since 1899. The foundation stone for the second parish church was laid on September 15, 1962, and the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on November 30 of the same year. Consecrated the church on September 11 in 1964 by bishop was Josef Stimpfle . It is named after the icon of the Blessed Mother of Vladimir .

On January 1st, 2012 the parish of Steigenberg-Fischhaber was incorporated into the parish of Christkönig.

In 2014, a photovoltaic system with an electrical output of 101 kW p was installed on the roof of the church building .
