Our time (magazine)

Our time was a "bi-monthly publication for politics, literature, economics, social policy and the labor movement", as it was called in the subtitle. The communist magazine was published by the Executive Committee of International Workers Aid for Soviet Russia . It was published from January 1933 to August 1935 (?) By Verlag Unser Zeit (Berlin, Basel and Paris).

Our time was the continuation of the writing The Red Structure (1922/23, 1929-1932). Willi Munzenberg acted as editor . She appeared as VI. Born in 1933 with numbers 1 to 6 still in Berlin. Issue 7 appeared in Basel after the NSDAP came to power.

With issue 10 (June 15, 1933) the Left Front - the organ of the working intelligentsia of Czechoslovakia - became our time .

With the number 15 the magazine was published in Paris by Editions du Carrefour . Alexander Abusch was editor-in-chief of the magazine from 1934 (see, for example, UNSERE ZEIT. Vol. 7, H.2.Paris, February 1934) The circulation was around 6,000-10,000 (according to the publisher).

The authors of the magazine included a. Henri Barbusse , Ilja Ehrenburg , Egon Erwin Kisch , Romain Rolland , André Gide , Theodor Balk and Willi Münzenberg .
