Exterior view of the chapel

Our Lady is a chapel in Anhofen in Upper Swabia , a district of Markt Wald . The chapel is believed to have been built around 1700. This is indicated by the shape of the window at the end of the choir. An extension and the attachment of the roof turret were carried out in 1824. However, since no expansion could be proven structurally, it could have been a completely new building in 1824.

The church is located to the west below the village on the road to Markt Wald. It is oriented to the south. The flat-roofed, semicircular closed room has small arched windows on both sides of the apse , drawn in at the top and bottom. In the long walls there is an arched window, in the north wall there is an arched door between small, square peepholes. Outside there is a rough, beveled eaves cornice . At the north gable there is a simple roof turret with a square base and an upper floor with beveled corners. Otherwise it has no windows or cornices and a pointed helmet with a tin roof .

The canteen of the wooden, marbled altar dates from the second half of the 19th century. The small attachment from the end of the 17th century has two columns and a cranked predella and an entablature zone with auricular decoration. In the middle is a pietá from the middle of the 18th century. In the cafeteria there are statuettes of Our Lady and John Evangelista from the first half of the 18th century. On both sides of the top there are putti with signs from the 18th century on the wall.
