Classroom climate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Classroom climate is a special form of social climate for groups.

The term classroom climate describes the quality of the teacher - pupil and pupil-pupil relationship within school lessons and is a highly regarded component of the pedagogical discussion as well as the subject matter in teacher training seminars.

Effects

A positive teaching atmosphere is of central importance for the success of any teaching. Fear of failure or a lack of mutual consideration lead to blockages or even to a temporary or permanent refusal of cooperation on the part of the pupils ( refusal to attend school ). The classroom climate is an indispensable factor in humane teaching and learning for work in schools . Studies have shown that a positive teaching climate has a positive effect on performance and also influences the development of personality.

development

The classroom climate develops in a dynamic, social process that is dependent on a variety of influences, such as the individualities of teachers and students, the educational ethos of the school, the school environment, the classroom and the specialist cultures of the subjects.

The climate thus has a considerable influence on the learning process of the learners and also on the satisfaction of the teachers with their job. It is essentially determined by the respective degree

  • mutual consideration and tolerance ,
  • responsible handling of people and objects,
  • satisfied and happy basic attitude,
  • clearly structured leadership and direction by the teacher,
  • Courtesy and mutual respect,
  • the self-respect of each individual
  • and the cooperation of the person responsible for school life teacher and the student.
