The Uphuser Meer is an inland lake in the area of the city of Emden in East Frisia . It is located in the Uphusen district .
The lake is primarily used as a recreational area. There is a holiday home colony on its east bank. There are hardly any publicly accessible places on this side of the lake. On the Uphuser Meer, sailing regattas take place, which are mostly organized by the leisure and water sports club Uphuser Meer , which has its domicile on the lake. Fishing is also a popular leisure activity.
The Uphuser Sea is connected to the Fehntjer Tief via the Neue Tief and thus both to the inner-East Frisian waterway network and - via the Emden harbor and its sea locks - to the high seas.
The west bank of the lake is designated as a landscape protection area and is not accessible.
