The Upper Taseko Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of British Columbia .
Upper Taseko Lake is located in the southern Coast Mountains in a glacial valley that opens inland to the Chilcotin Plateau . The lake, located at an altitude of 1325 m , is 9.45 km² and has a length in north-south direction of 7.5 km and a maximum width of around 1.7 km. The lake is drained via a 1.3 km long drain to Lower Taseko Lake to the north . Important tributaries of the lake are, besides the Taseko River , which flows through the lake in a northerly direction, Lord River and Tchaikazan River.
Sea fauna
In the lake u. a. the following species of fish: bull trout , Dolly Varden trout , the Saugkarpfenart Catostomus Catostomus ( English Longnose Sucker ), and the Coregoninenart Prosopium william soni ( English Mountain Whitefish ).
