The Ural State University of Economics (USUE) is a Russian university based in Yekaterinburg . According to the 2011 International Standard Classification of Education, USUE is at ISCED level 8; it is listed in the anabin database with the status H +.

history

In 1886 the first building of a future university was built in Yekaterinburg. Until 1918 the building housed a military academy for the white army ; In 1919 the building was handed over to the Urals University.

In 1965 the Sverdlovsk Institute of Economics (Russian abbreviation -SINH) was founded. At that time, the institute had two faculties (full-time courses with evening school and non-university faculty), six departments, 2,399 students and 232 lecturers, including three professors, 53 associate professors and nine candidates for the natural sciences. In 1981 a new academic building was built. In 1994, the institute received the highest rank in the hierarchy of universities and received a new name - Ural State University of Economics. In 2007, USUE received the highest status for educational institutions (H +) according to the listing for educational institutions of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research , which means public recognition of the USUE diplomas in Europe.

In 2009, the university underwent major restructuring for the first time with the transition to a two-tier "Bachelor-Master" education system. Another important innovation was the introduction of the assessment system for assessing knowledge in 2009, active participation in the federal internet test, certification of the quality management system and the introduction of the education portal and the catalog of the electronic library. The first Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (EEYF) started in 2009. The forum emerged from the international business game "SCO-2039", in which students from 11 countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization took part.

In 2011, at the opening of the XII. At the Congress of the Eurasian Universities Association (EUA), dedicated to the 300th anniversary of MV Lomonosov Moscow State University, USUE announced that USUE would join the Eurasian Association of Universities. The president of the EAU is the academician Viktor Sadovnichy, rector of Moscow State University and vice-president of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 2013 the Nuclear Energy Information Center (NEIC) opened at USUE.

In 2014, a new international association - University League of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) - was founded on the basis of USUE within the framework of the V Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. The agreement was signed by 25 educational institutions and organizations from Russia, Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Tajikistan , Armenia and Belarus . In the same year, the Institute for Food Security was founded at USUE to carry out research activities within the framework of the goals of the CSTO University League.
