Uriah or Urijah ( Hebrew אוּרִיָּה, Ivrit Uriyya, Tiberian ʾÛriyyāh) is a male given name and the name of various men in the Tanach , the Hebrew Bible. Literally it means The Lord is my light .

Captain Uria

The captain of King David's Uriah, also Uriah , was the first husband of the beautiful Bathsheba , who became pregnant by the king, in the absence of her husband, and therefore her husband Uriah through the deceit of his king, through his ominous Urias letter to the general Joab , into a deadly one Combat mission was sent. And so King David was able to marry the widow he had made pregnant. The child of this royal desire also died shortly after birth and Bathsheba became the mother of the future King Solomon .
