Uroš Čufer (2013)

Uroš Čufer (* 1970 ) was Slovenia's finance minister from March 2013 to September 2014 . He is a member of the Pozitivna Slovenija party .

Čufer studied economics at the University of Paris-Dauphine , where he met with a thesis on the Slovenian monetary policy doctorate was. From 1999 he was head of the financial analysis department of the Slovenian Central Bank , then from 2004 head of the financial management department of Nova Ljubljanska banka .

After the parliament's vote of no confidence in the previous government of Janez Janša , the new Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek appointed him as Minister of Finance in her cabinet in office from March 2013, where he succeeded Janez Šušteršič . After the resignation of the Minister for Economic Development and Technology Stanko Stepišnik in November 2013, Uroš Čufer also temporarily took over his department.

His tenure ended with the formation of the Cerar cabinet in September 2014, in which Dušan Mramor became his successor.
