Urs Baumann (theologian)

Urs Baumann (born November 26, 1941 in Zurich ) is a Roman Catholic , Swiss theologian .

Life

Baumann studied Roman Catholic theology from 1961 to 1970 at the Lucerne Theological Faculty , at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . From 1970 to 1977 Baumann worked as a pastoral consultant in the community service and as a regional youth pastor in practical pastoral work in the diocese of Basel . Baumann has been Professor of Ecumenical Theology at the University of Tübingen since 1993 . Baumann is married and has two children. He is a signatory of the memorandum “ Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening ”.
