Urs Frey (economist)

Urs Frey (* 1968 in Thun ) is a Swiss economist , strategy consultant and keynote speaker.

Life

Urs Frey at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) Business Administration studied and was awarded a PhD there. From 1994 to 2017 he worked at the Swiss Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (KMU-HSG) and at the Center for Family Business (CFB-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), first as a project manager, then as a member of the management team and head Consulting & Services division. From 2008 to 2017, he was also co-editor and author of the lead article of the publication (ku-Magazin der PostFinance), which has appeared since 2008, which has taken up business issues for small businesses twice a year and with a circulation of 30,000 in German, French and Italian has appeared. Since 2018 he has been working as a freelance management consultant, coach and author at 7impact AG , Appenzell (AI).

His main areas of activity are strategic management , business model innovation and organizational development of family-run small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs ) in German-speaking countries.

He is a member of several boards of directors of family-run SMEs and has also been a member of the Lions Club St.Gallen since 2008 .
