Klaus Viedebantt

Klaus Viedebantt (born January 12, 1943 in Krefeld ) is a German journalist and author of non-fiction books, mainly travel literature.

Life

Viedebantt studied German , sociology and German folklore at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . From 1968 he worked as a press officer for the university's academic press and information office. In 1973 he received his doctorate in Frankfurt with a study on “Volkstheater im Fernsehen”, based on the folklore research of Hermann Bausinger .

From 1974 to 1977 he worked for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Then he headed the travel department of the time . In 1986 he returned to the FAZ, coordinated the journalistic activities of the FAZ group in the new federal states from 1990 to 1992 and was then head of the teaching and journal editing of the paper until 2003. Since 1996 he has been a lecturer for print journalism at the Journalism Seminar at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , and until 2011 he taught journalism at Edith Cowan University in Perth , Australia.

Viedebantt wrote numerous travel books .
